1/35 US 155mm Howitzer M114A1 (Vietnam War)

The US Army developed a new 155mm howitzer called M1 based on the 155mm howitzer manufactured by Schneider in France during World War I in 1941. The model that has been modified slightly thereafter is called M1A1. The cannon can fire a 43-kilogram shell and can accurately hit a target 15,000 meters away. After World War II, the US military continued to improve this howitzer in order to extend its service life. Therefore, the M1A1 155 mm howitzer became a medium-sized artillery of the NATO standard and was widely exported to other countries. However, the guns used until the 1960s had to be refurbished, so they were improved to the M114, M114A1, and M114A2 systems. These modified howitzers served the South Vietnamese Army and the Israeli Army during the local wars of the 1960s and 1970s; US troops began to replace their old M114 artillery with new M198 howitzers in 1982.
